Year 2 Class CF Class CF have been learning all about different countries around the world in their 'globe trotters' topic. The children have been comparing Broadclyst primary school to Bekumsa Biya, our link school in Ethiopia. The children have already written letters to send and have made a list of questions they would like to ask the children at the school.
The children have begun to learn about healthy eating and identifying food groups. The children had the opportunity to make cheese in the kitchen by heating milk and adding lemon juice to make the milk curdle. The children were very interested to see the curds and whey separate and form cheese.
Each week the children practise reading their books to the class. They make sure they can read every word before hand and try to read with expression. Some children like to ask questions about the story and others enjoy showing the pictures. They all enjoy using the microphone and their round of applause at the end. We have been learning about people around the world and have been interested in the artist Antony Gormley. The children are creating their own version of Gormleys 'Field' by creating clay figures in the art room with different colour clay.

Class CHW
We have also been looking at snails after Alex brought in some Giant African Snails. All of the class were surprised at how big snails could be!! We really enjoyed collecting our own snails from the orchard and examining what they look like and how they move with magnifying glasses and under a microscope.
The whole class have been learning the recorder. We have already mastered our first piece and hope to perform to others in the school by the end of the term!
