Art
With the advent of the new school buildings, we have been able to designate a dedicated Art Room. Decorated by members of the staff and PTFA, our new art room is a peaceful and inspiring place to pursue creativity, with everything to hand you may need.
Some of the work the children are already producing is of an outstanding quality, as you can see for yourself. This large wall hanging (pictured left) was made by the children painting onto individual pieces of calico using either inks, acrylics or in some cases a mixture of both. |

Their individual paintings were then sewn onto a large canvas and edged in black felt. The whole thing is now on display at the Eden Project.
The blue hexagon below was based on the annanis plant (which is the one that looks like a pineapple) and which one student used for her painting onto material.
The medium the children used for the hexagon was acrylic with the lighter blue created by marbling two shades of very thick blue acrylic together. The other hexagon was worked on by all the remaining children from the two classes and they each had three of the small hexagons to paint by mixing colours of their choice to use. Once all the hexagons were filled in, large black leaf outlines were overlaid to allow the colours to show through. Again this was painted in acrylic.
