Yr 6 Pixies Holt weekend

On Friday we had a normal day at school, but at 5.00 our weekend was very different to normal. We drove away in two minibuses. We had a lovely journey for about one hour and finally arrived at Pixies Holt.

We were introduced to the centre by the manager. For dinner we had a lovely lasagne followed by syrup sponge with custard. After dinner we had an excellent game of ‘Windy Days’. Miss Farrant won (much to Mr Bishops disappointment). Then we had a good game of round the table. Just before bed we had some flapjack and a choice of drinks. At midnight Mr Bishop set off the fire alarm and we all had to get out of are beds and out the door as quick as we could.

After a lovely night sleep we got woken up at 7.00 to get ready for breakfast. For breakfast we had a choice of cereals a few yoghurts and a fry up.After breakfast we got split up into groups for caving and the walk. The first group for caving arrived and we had to get into overalls, helmets and light. We had a lot of fun going through the caves. The first group off on the walk at Houndtor said that it was fun, but extremely tiring. The second group off the walk were lucky enough to be joined by Mr Warren.

After both of the groups arrived back we all had a well earned shower. Then for tea we had curry .For desert we had Vienneta. After, we had a few games and went to bed.

On the final day we all went for a treasure hunt in the woods. We had to find markers and then we had to put some paper over them and make a rubbing so it makes a picture on the paper. After that we went back to Pixies Holt house and we all did jobs like hovering, cleaning the toilet, carrying the bags down to the bus and making sure the centre was spotless. When we all had cleaned, we had a lovely journey back home, ready for the next week at school.
