Year 3

Class AC

In class 3AC we have been learning all about space. We carried out an experiment to test the effect of gravity and we worked out our weight on the different planets in our solar system due to the changing force of gravity.

We have been investigating how temperature changes during the day and how the position of the sun affects this. We also made balloon rockets and tested how far they travelled and wrote instructions for how to make them.

We have been learning to play the violin every Tuesday with Sarah as well as swimming at Middlemoor every Wednesday.

Class YF

In class 3YF our topic is Chocolate. Chocolate all started from a group of people called the Aztecs. We have started looking into the arts and crafts of the Aztec people. We have made our own Aztec snake mosaics

Within class we have debated whether chocolate should be banned for all children. We decided that it was important to stay healthy and instead of banning it to, we’re all going to be sensible and brush our teeth. We have also considered what other things we can do to keep ourselves healthy, including keeping safe on the roads. We have designed our own cycle helmets and tested  different materials to see if they can protect eggs.

This is Jack’s egg crash test to find out what materials would keep us safe and healthy  if riding a bike.

We have been very lucky that this term  we are all taking violin lessons. After 3 lessons we have already started to  use our bows and are sounding very tuneful!
